WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY IN ASHEVILLE

Asheville attracts couples who think differently about what a wedding looks like. More creative, more unconventional, more willing to do something that doesn't follow a template. That energy shows up on video. Couples here tend to be more open to doing non-traditional things with their timeline, their ceremony, their portraits. It's some of the most interesting footage we get all year.

The mountain light is a big part of it too. Golden hour in the Blue Ridge is a completely different thing than golden hour on the coast. The ridgelines catch the sun in a way that makes everything feel cinematic without any effort. We've filmed at Fred W. Symmes Chapel (Pretty Place) and The Farm in Candler, and both gave us footage that looks nothing like what we shoot at sea level.

We're based in Wilmington, so Asheville is a trip for us. We usually drive up the day before and stay overnight. A travel fee applies and is quoted per wedding as part of your proposal.

If you're planning something in Asheville, Black Mountain, Hendersonville, Brevard, or anywhere in the WNC mountains, we'd love to talk about it.

WHY HEARTLINE FILMS

Documentary style

We don't do shot lists or staged moments. We follow your day as it unfolds and find the story in it. What you get back feels like your wedding, not a production.

Husband-and-wife team

We're Kevin and Haley. We film weddings together, and we genuinely care about the people we work with. You're not getting a random crew. You're getting us.

Super 8mm film

We shoot on a real vintage Super 8 camera with Kodak film stock. Not a filter, not a preset. One of the few videographers in North Carolina who offer this.

20 weddings per year

We cap our calendar so every couple gets our full attention. That means no rushed edits, no cookie-cutter films, and time to actually get to know you before your day.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a travel fee for Asheville weddings?
Yes. Asheville is about four and a half hours from our home base in Wilmington, so we quote a travel fee per wedding that covers our drive and overnight stay. It's included in your custom proposal so there are no surprises.
Do you film elopements?
We do. Asheville and the surrounding mountains are a popular elopement destination, and we're happy to film smaller, more intimate ceremonies. Same approach as a full wedding; just a shorter day. Reach out and we can put together something that fits.
What's included in your Asheville wedding packages?
Same packages as everywhere else. The Feature is $3,295 (one filmmaker, highlight film) and The Director's Cut is $5,295 (two filmmakers, ceremony, speeches, drone, Super 8mm). The travel fee is added on top and quoted separately.
How does mountain weather affect filming?
Mountain weather is less predictable than the coast, but we plan for it. Fog, overcast skies, even light rain can actually look incredible on video; it's part of what makes mountain weddings feel different. We bring weather protection for our gear and adjust our approach based on conditions. The footage always turns out.

REAL SUPER 8MM FILM

We shoot on a vintage Super 8 camera with Kodak film stock; the same format home movies were shot on for decades. It's warm, textured, and looks nothing like a digital filter.

Included in The Director's Cut.
