WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY IN ASHEVILLE
Asheville attracts couples who think differently about what a wedding looks like. More creative, more unconventional, more willing to do something that doesn't follow a template. That energy shows up on video. Couples here tend to be more open to doing non-traditional things with their timeline, their ceremony, their portraits. It's some of the most interesting footage we get all year.
The mountain light is a big part of it too. Golden hour in the Blue Ridge is a completely different thing than golden hour on the coast. The ridgelines catch the sun in a way that makes everything feel cinematic without any effort. We've filmed at Fred W. Symmes Chapel (Pretty Place) and The Farm in Candler, and both gave us footage that looks nothing like what we shoot at sea level.
We're based in Wilmington, so Asheville is a trip for us. We usually drive up the day before and stay overnight. A travel fee applies and is quoted per wedding as part of your proposal.
If you're planning something in Asheville, Black Mountain, Hendersonville, Brevard, or anywhere in the WNC mountains, we'd love to talk about it.
WHY HEARTLINE FILMS
Documentary style
No shot lists, no staged exits, no directing the day from behind a camera. We follow what actually happens and cut the film from that. Mountain weddings tend to run on their own clock anyway; it suits how we work.
Husband-and-wife team
We're Kevin and Haley. We're married, we run Heartline together, and we keep it that way on purpose. When you book us, you're booking us; there's no rotating crew behind the name.
Super 8mm film
We shoot real Kodak stock on a vintage Super 8 camera and send it to a lab to be developed. The grain and the colors are the real thing. Very few videographers in North Carolina offer it.
A limited calendar
We keep the calendar small on purpose, booking a limited number of weddings each year. That leaves room to learn your story before we show up, and to edit your film without a queue behind it.

REAL SUPER 8MM FILM
The Super 8 camera we carry is an actual vintage one, and the Kodak stock running through it is actual film; the format families used for home movies for decades. Mountain fog and October color take to film grain in a way digital can't quite copy.
It's included in The Director's Cut.
