One of the most common questions we get is simply: how does this work? From the first email to the final film, here's what working with a wedding videographer actually looks like, start to finish.
12–18 months out: booking
Most couples reach out a year or more before the wedding. You check your date, watch full films, and have a call. Once you book (we hold dates with a 30% retainer), you're on the calendar. We cap how many weddings we take, so this step is really about making sure we're a fit.
The month before: planning
As the day approaches, we talk timeline. When's golden hour? Where's getting-ready? Any must-capture moments or family dynamics we should know about? A good videographer plans around your photographer and planner so nobody's stepping on toes.
The wedding day
We arrive during getting-ready and stay through the part of the night you want covered — full-day, no hourly meter. We shoot documentary-style: no long shot lists, no staged moments. We follow the day and find the story in it. You'll barely notice us, which is the point.
After the day: editing
This is where the real time goes. A wedding film takes 40–60 hours of editing — syncing audio, color grading, choosing moments, building the narrative. Good editing is most of what you're paying for, and it can't be rushed.
Delivery and revisions
You'll receive your highlight film plus the longer edits in your package. We include revisions because we want it right, not just done. From there, it's yours to watch on every anniversary for the rest of your life.
